Hello everyone,
This is what is going on with GTD services at Irving for this week.
2nd Grade Math
We are working on money skills (adding and subtracting) using a book called "Alexander Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday". We have totaled amounts of money and are subtracting different values down to zero and if time permits we will create our own Alexnder stories.
2nd Grade Reading
Students are beginning a new unit on "Imagination" and will begin reading "Half Magic" by Edward Eager
3rd Grade Math
We are finishing up a unit on measurement by using geoshapes to create figures that meet various requirements for perimeter and area
4th Grade Math
Students are continuing to work on problem skills and building on Algebra concepts. Students will begin coming to "Packer Math" based on unit pre-assessments. Parents should have received a letter regarding this.
5th Grade Math
Students have begun presenting their PowerPoints on "Data Collection". They have also continued to work on Unit 3 which includes using formulas, graphing data, and reading and creating line graphs from charts.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
